An iPad or laptop for our needs?
We will be converting our home office into a nursery soon and will be getting rid of our desktop and we are looking for something to replace it. We have a laptop at home that we can use for word processing, spreadsheets etc. I hate travelling with it because it is so heavy! Our needs for the replacement device are something for using the internet, storing music, and storing photos and it MUST be lightweight. Would an iPad fit those needs or should we try to find a lightweight laptop? I really cannot stand another heavy piece of equipment hanging on my shoulder.
Also I do not have an iPhone or iPod touch so I am not familiar with whatever it is they do.

the differences i know between ipad and laptop are here:
1. the iPad takes the form of a tablet rather than that of the laptop;
2. the iPad lacks a keyboard but has a touch screen while it’s the other way around for most laptops;
3. you can’t install just any application on an iPad unlike on a laptop;
4. the iPad lacks true multi-tasking present in laptops;
5. the iPad does not have user replaceable batteries unlike laptops;
6. the iPad is not upgradeable unlike laptops.
according to your needs, personally i guess a ipad would be good.
