HP Laptop is not loading properly?
When I usually log onto my laptop, an internet connection is available and ready to use... Now when I log on, I have to wait 5-10 minutes for an internet connection to be available.. it doesn't even look like it's loading. Usually a blue circle spins over the internet bars, and now... there's nothing.
Also, my computer is not allowing me to turn on my Avast internet security protection.
Another little problem is that when I usually move the volume on my computer up or down using the touch pad on my actual keyboard, there is a bar that comes up in the middle of my screen that moves to the left and right showing how high or low the volume is, it does not do that anymore.
Started to run a system scan but said it wasn't able to finish the scan because I had a virus protector on.. which I don't because it won't let me turn it on. Think my computer is shot? I got it in January, is there a one year free warranty on it? Or what do I need to do?

Here is what I would suggest:
I'm going to pretend you have a laptop from a name brand company (Dell, Compaq, etc). You should find the recovery disc that came with your computer. You might be able to successfully repair your windows operating system or fully re-install the operating system. This is not a hard thing to do - these discs are meant to be user friendly. I would suggest you back up your important data onto a harddrive (if you have an ipod lying around, you can knock it into disk mode and drop all your important files onto it).
