Is there a good program for recording audio on a computer/laptop using a mic?
I'm not talking about windows sound recorder. I need a program that will give me the highest quality sound recording using a high quality mic. Also needs to have time stamping so I can align the audio tracks with my video. I need to record my interviews and background noise for my documentary and it would be alot cheaper to just use my laptop to record the audio than getting an additonal portable recording device.
Have a look into Audacity, its free/open source and *should* do what you're trying to do
