I cannot load my canoscan lide20 drivers onto my netbook because the computer says I need at least VGA?
This little netbook does everything my former laptop does except work with my scanner--I get a message that I need at least VGA or better to load the drivers (or the toolbox, etc, which is the same because Canon does not provide the drivers separately, I think). I have loaded every driver and software combo from Canon that pertains to this but nothing seems to work. If I don't try to do the software, but try to find what looks lilke just drivers from Canon, it kind of just stops and no drivers appear. Can I load them from my old laptop, which still works, or can't you do that with drivers? I have a feeling you can't.
By the way, I did connect the netbook directly to a desktop monitor, thinking that would make it VGA, but that didn't work either; I suspect either the netbook has vga or not, no matter what the monitor might be.
I suspect that your netbook is missing its appropriate VGA driver that is why the Canon installation is looking for it and can not find any. Try installing first the VGA driver of netbook.
