Is it ok to run a laptop off the power outlet without the battery installed?
I do this because I am worried about the battery overcharging and losing capacity over time. However, in the safety manual, it says the battery should always be installed even when the computer is running off the power outlet.
It is OK.But I suggest you’d better not to do.
Because the battery control circuit of the Ni-MH battery model is applicated widely which can help you cut off the charging automatically when the battery is charged fully.So you do not need to worry about the overcharge.And losing capacity is normal in every battery not only yours.
But your mainboard maybe broken when the power is cut off suddenly,if plug out the battery. Though the probability is very very small,it is not a story.
