Can any PCI Express card be put in my laptop?
My laptop is an Acer Extensa 5210. It has a PCI Express Card slot (or so it says in the manual). It currently uses a Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset graphics.
Could I buy, say, an nVidia, PCI Express Card and put it in my laptop?

what laptops have is not a PCI express slot but a Mini PCI express slot.
Mini PCI express slots are used for Wireless cards and/or Intel Turbo memory cards. there are no graphics cards for Mini PCI express slots.
the bad news for you is you stuck with your Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset graphics (more precisely, it's a GMA 950).

yea, that's what i said. GMA 950 is the name of the graphics chip integrated in the Intel Mobile 945GM Express Chipset.
there is no way to change the graphics because that Chipset is soldered on the mainboard.
yes, this Chipset does support PCI Express but not in a laptop. a laptop does only have Mini PCI express slots, PCI express cards are wayyyyyyyyy too large for a laptop.
as a comparison, a PCI express graphics card is larger than the entire laptop. those are made for desktop computers only.
