Can this laptop work in Egypt?
I am taking a laptop out to a friend in Egypt. It is second hand, and runs windows XP Pro.
It is a COMPAQ N600c PIII 866MHz 256MB 30GB CD 14" XP laptop
Do I have to buy anything when I get there. The guy speaks perfect English so it's not as if he wants it in Arabic. He lives in an apartment with no phone so how would he set it up to work with wireless?
What kind of Pcmia wireless card can anyone recomment. not a dear one.
Is it easy to set things up there and do they have broad band.

Well....to have wireless internet you have to have broadband, to have broadband you have to have a phone line or cable, so without a phone your kind of out of luck....if you do manage to get broadband, to make it wireless you then need to buy a 'wireless router' and THEN you need to buy a pcmcia wireless card.....as ive never used a laptop without wireless built inside i wouldnt have a clue where to start with that....sorry......but yeah theres a few things to address before that....as for the laptop working in general, yes of course....obviously you will need a power adapter for the plug but thats it.
