Why can't my Wii pick up on my house's WiFi Connection?
On the the release day, my friend brought her shiny new Wii over to my house and hooked it up. We managed to get it connected to my WiFi while she was over, but we didn't do much with it, as we were both too preoccupied playing Twilight Princess until she went home.
A few weeks later, I bought my own Wii and hooked it up. The games play just fine and I'm not having problems, except it isn't recognizing my wireless connection at home. It can't be a hardware problem with my Wii, because it will pick up on my neighbors' WiFi, but not mine. My router is working correctly, because otherwise I couldn't ask this question with my laptop ^_~
It's not a password problem, either, because it's designed so you enter the password *after* the Wii finds the connection. But it's not finding the connection, so I can't enter the password.
Any advice?
I had the same problem with my Wii. What I had to do is change the channel the router was transmitting over. I think it should be either channel 1 or 11. And if the Search for an Access Point isn't working, that's probably the reason. And if getting closer to your router doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. If you go to wii.nintendo.com, there should be some info there to help you.
