Skype - My girlfriend and I have the same laptop but she doesn't need to use a mic, but I do. Why?
We each have the same Inspiron 1520 (a recently new laptop) but when we skype, I need to plug a mic in the USB, but not her.
At first she had no audio, but someone told her something that fixed it.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

The 1520 can be configured with a built in microphone. Maybe yours doesn't include one. You can check under control panel>sounds and audio devices. This should give you a list of any devices pertaining to audio installed on the laptop.
You can check to see if your laptop has the built in microphone by also looking for the 1 or 2 holes just above the screen. If you have a webcam it will be on either side of the webcam.
