question about laptop keyboards..?
I frequently write in spanish, and sometimes, I need to type letters with accent marks, but my new laptop doesn't allow me to do that. My old desktop would let me just by pressing i.e. ALT +130 for the "e" with the accent mark, but this laptop doesn't let me. Can someone help me please?
Laptops usually have a function key (Fn) and a key with the Num lock( num lk) on it. Usually the same color as the function key. If you press the Function key and then the Num Lock Key, you can use ALT + whatever key combination you need. The numbers you need to use are not the ones at the top of the keyboard, but they are printed in small, in the letters. Usually in the same color as the Function key, at least in my case. For example ALT+164 for the ñ. I don't have a camera so I can't take a pic of my laptop's keyboard. But I hope this helps.
*Edit: I found a pic of a keyboard similar to mine, and I circled the numbers usually in the numpad of a full size keyboard, and the Num lock key also. The function key is usually a the bottom left of the keyboard, nex to the CTRL and the Win key.
