How sturdy is your laptop?
In a rush to get a drink refill, jumped outa my chair, and caught my foot on my Compaq books power cord. Sitting waist high on a side table. Off it comes, hitting the floor on its side. Shear and utter panic ensued. No broken screen, popped open the optical tray, and card reader. Booted right up! Jeez! Oh thank you, oh thank you.... I've killed drives just droping em a foot onto a bed or something. How sturdy is your laptop, and when have you broken it? This is an XP machine which normally you can crash XP just by yelling "BOO!" at em.... let alone dropping em...
I own an Acer 3624WXMi for about 1 yr now and have drop kicked it across an iced over parking lot into a slush puddle. Spilled a number of "fluids" all over it. Smothered it with a blanket and slept on it. Warped/burned a couple keys from cig cherries. not to mention the ol' trip over the power cable and watch it fly about like it had wings.
I have never in my life owned a more durable product. Purchased brandy new for 400 and would never think twice about buying another.
I hear ya with the precautions one takes with "some" puters, but for some reason, I guess, this one has something to prove.
