How to connect a laptop to tv with a/v cables?

I have a laptop that i want to connect to my tv but my tv only has the yellow red and white cables. i bought this cable called a VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable and i dont have a s video input on my tv how do i connect it to my tv?

You need a PC to TV converter to convert the VGA signal from laptop to COMPOSITE video signal that feeds to yellow RCA jack of TV.

You can not use your VGA to S-video adapter. Output of that is COMPONENT video signal but your TV is only capable of receiving COMPOSITE video.
