Is there a cord that you can connect to your laptop to your tv?
I want to create a slideshow on my laptop and view it on my tv, and i'm not sure how to connect them together or what cord to use?

Yes, most laptops (recent ones anyways...) have an Svideo out. You do need to make sure your TV supports Svideo however. If it doesn't, you can buy an Svideo to Composite cable such as this one.

EDIT: There are several different model A105s, but I'm pretty sure that you have an Svideo. After doing a very quick online search, I did find this page with an Svideo port clearly on the side.

If it doesn't have Svideo, you can always get a VGA to svideo adapter. As was mentioned, you will need another cable to handle the audio if there is any.
BTW, most laptops I've used you need to press Fn F5 in order to make the laptop use the Svideo out port. Pressing it once usually makes the svideo port turn on, and leaves the laptop screen on. Pressing it again usually makes the laptop screen go black, and pressing it a third time makes either both go black, or the Svideo black and the laptop screen come back on. (for all laptops that I've used, the keys have always been Fn F5.) Good luck.
EDIT: you wouldn't use an RS232, thats a serial port and has nothing to do with video.
