Is it okay to reboot a Windows vista laptop with a windows xp reinstall cd?
I have a windows vista inspiron 1501 laptop and I lost my original reinstall cd. My friend has a reinstall cd from a windows xp. Would it be okay to use that? Or can I even use it?
You need a Windows XP cd key and yes it'll be fine.
You can't install windows XP and have it be vista nor use a vista key.
BTW hardware is what is inside your computer, your OS (operating system) isn't hardware, it's software. (Just for future reference.)
