I just bought a laptop and I downloaded ooVoo but why doesnt my mic work?
Webcam works on my laptop but for some reason the mic doesnt work. I can hear my friends but they cant hear me. I tested the mic and it says it works (mic on laptop) but still doesnt work. Do I have to buy a headset or is there a way that my mic in my laptop can work?
Right click the little sound icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. Then click RECORDING DEVICES. You will see a list of options. You will need to click mic and then set as default and click OK. Charlie, ps, I have never used ooVoo. Perhaps its similar to SKYPE.. If so when you have ooVoo open you prob need to click on tools, and options and then sound/audio settings. check what is set as your microphone input device. It should be your webcam if ur webcam is working. So try and set it to webcam and click OK etc. Sorry this sounds a little vague as I have not downloaded this program, but that is the way skype works. If you havent the audio settings right people wont hear you. Ta
