Installing RAM into laptop...how to know for sure you didnt damage it?
I just installed 2gb of ram into my laptop. I used an anti-static wrist guard when I installed it. I also took out the battery before I installed the RAM. However, I accidentally touched part of the middle of one of the RAM chips before I installed it.
After I installed it the computer booted up fine and the computer recozgnized the memory. My question is how would I know if I damaged the chip by shocking it or touching the middle and damaging it? If it boots up and the computer recognizes it does that mean its defintely okay?
I am just a bit paranoid because Ive never installed RAM before and want to be sure I did it right.

dont worry if you touched it. I carry ram in my back pocket sometimes
