Lock problem, how to alter the double lock feature on a deadlock night latch?
I have fitted a Manual Deadlock Night latch to a front door. Now I find it has a very dangerous feature called Double Lock whereby people in the house could not open the door to get out. How can I alter the inside of the latch to inactivate this feature? I wish to keep this lock if possible as it matches other door hardware.
actually you need to replace this lock and get a lock that has a manual
hand release on it. Dual locks are not meant for residential usage but for
security purposes in offices where there are no residents or workers
physically residing overnight. We always think that locks like these
provide extra safety and security but in the real life situation they can become
