With wisdom teeth is it normal for the lower gum and wider bottom jaw to be painful and feel numb or swollen?
its not swollen but feels like it. The edge of my tongue feels slightly worn or raw. This normal?
The tooth (on the bottom right) is about 3/4mm out.
You are developing what is called a pericornitis around the tooth. It is infection due to plaque and food being caught under the gum around this partially erupted tooth. You should mix a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and vigorously rinse the area every 2 hours . This will help flush out the area and draw out any infection. Then you need to see a dentist for evaluation of all of your wisdom teeth and make sure they will not damage the teeth in front of them. Good luck.
