Question about disabling integrated graphics?

I purchased a new graphics card, my pc right now has integrated graphics and I know that I have to disable it in the BIOS at some point. I just need some clarification on the steps for doing all of this.

Do I first physically install the card, then install the drivers, and then disable the integrated graphics? Or do I want to first disable the on board graphics before installing drivers or even installing the card? The manual for my new card doesn't really make it clear enough, particularly the part about disabling the on board graphics.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

95% of the time, if you plug in the graphic card, right away your intergrated one WILL turn off, so what u do is plug in your new card, hook the monitor into ure new graphic card not your motherboard one, boot up comp the graphics and resolution will look shitty and u install the driver, reboot and its done

i installed 4 diff graphic cards and they have always worked like this
