2 sticks of 2GB ddr2 memory = 4GB or 8GB?
I'm upgrading my XPS m1710 laptop memory, which is running 1 stick of 512mb DDR.
According to Dell, my laptop has a max of 4gigs of memory.
Is it okay if I install 2 sticks of 2GB DDR2. I'm not too sure because I know 512mb of DDR2 = 1g. I don't want to go over the specified limit.
*edit- I'm running 1stick of 512mb DDR2
2 sticks of 2GB memory is 4GB, no matter what type it is (DDR, DDR2) so you'll be fine and in the limit
