What can I use to splice tiny wires that go from my monitor to the motherboard?
I found two tiny wires broken in the wire harness where they were pinched in the hinge area of my computer from time of manufacture. These were clean breaks. I want to get my LCD monitor working. It is obvious that this is the problem.
I already removed the harness from the computer.
They are signal wires, very little current.
Have any spare USB cables you could cut up for wire?
Those torch cigarette lighters can be used to solder. BE CAREFUL. Easy to start a fire. And make sure no solder blobs fall, especially onto the motherboard.
PS Unplug the thing before soldering!
I would use heat shrink tubing to insulate the repair.
