My acer aspire 3680 - 2682 notebook is not detecting a charger?
Will somebody please help me its not detecting a charger and im about to go crazy without it...has anyone ever had this problem before??!?! The battery is dead so it wont even power on
Check the power lead to the charger first.
Next check the voltage at the tip where it plugs into the laptop to make sure it's not the charger which has failed.
If the charger is producing power then the problem will be a faulty power socket on the laptop - it's a common problem.
If you're mechanically adept you might be able to dismantle the laptop and replace or resolder the socket but it's not an easy job and sometimes means a new motherboard is required.
