How bad is the celeron 560 @ 2.13 GHZ in a notebook?
I know it can run vista but would the performance increase alot with xp? Or is it just a baaaad processor???
Not bad really because it is a modern Celeron based on Yonah core that has 1MB L2 cache. It is the old tech Celerons that were miserable performers because they were just severely castrated Pentium versions.
The problem with Vista is that its gets bottlenecked by small RAM (<<2GB). It should be speedy with 3GB or more RAM. XP and Windows 7 are more efficient with RAM. They run well even with 1GB RAM. So, it is not really the processor that is a problem with Vista but the available RAM remaining for applications after Vista takes all the RAM it needs.
