Best bluetooth mouse?
I am looking for a good bluetooth mouse. Below are two I seem to run into quite often - they seem to be the most popular:
Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
Logitech V470
I am open to other suggestions besides these two. Thanks.
Thanks
I'm using the V470 right now. I just got it this week so I can't give you much more than my initial impression. But so far it's great.
I'm using it with a MacBook Pro 13". The computer recognized it immediately (no need to even read the instructions). When my computer comes out of sleep, the mouse is recognized and functional in 2-3 seconds.
It has a nice "on/off" switch on the bottom in order to conserve battery. It's a laser-based mouse, so the tracking is very precise. I notice a little bit of skipping here and there, but it seems to only happen after I haven't touched the mouse in a few second. I suspect it's a battery-saving technique. Anyway, it's not an issue at all.
I wish it were just a little larger. I'm not sure about the Microsoft one, but this was the largest Bluetooth mouse I could find. It seems like manufacturers think that just because a mouse is made for a laptop it should be tiny. Anyway, I have very large hands and I cant stand "travel" mouses. This mouse is close to "regulation size" but still just a little small. That being said, it's not uncomfortable by any means.
It's effectively a 5 button mouse (you can push the scroll wheel from side to side), I have set to go forward and backward in my web browser when i push the scroll wheel to the left and right. That's easy and comfortable, even with my oversized hands.
It also comes with a nice little bag. Which is good because it has a nice shiny finish that I'm sure would be scratched to all heck after a few weeks without the bag. It's a good weight (mostly due to the 2 AA batteries in it). It's also pretty comfortable as undersized mouses go.
Anyway, that's my endorsement for the V470. It was cheap (about $38 shipped from Amazon), and I feel like it was a solid investment (since it frees up one of my two precious USB ports).
