packard bell notebook is giving me problems?
i bought it second hand and it keeps on saying battery is running low and i need to change to power outlet but when i do it says the same thing a little while later, i dont get it, i've tried taking the battery out to see if it'd work without it but no luck, i'm thinking its the battery but i'm not sure, when i put it on power outlet isn't it suppose to run without the battery installed?.....and by the way whats the difference between a laptop and a notebook?
To me it seems like it is the power adapter that is bad and is not charging the battery or providing power to the computer.
Yes the computer is supposed to run without the battery if it is plugged in electrical power. If you have a volt meter test the output voltage of the adapter and insure it is supplying the proper voltage. It will be listed on the power adapter what the output voltage should be.
There is NO difference between a laptop and a notebook computer. They mean the same thing ... Notebook is a newer marking term for a laptop.
