How to overclock the Intel Atom N270 processor on an Acer Aspire One D150?
None of this "Don't do it it'll damage your system" crap! I know the risks... give it to me straight!
Plz tell...
It isn't a matter of "Don't do it it'll damage your system".
It *is* a matter of "Can't Do It Your System Is Not Designed To Allow It". First, to be able to overclock, you need a BIOS that gives you the ability to change settings like the voltage your processor runs at, the multiplier your processor uses, your Front-Side Bus speed... etc. You need a BIOS that will allow you to manually set all the things that it automatically detects from your processor, so you can override them and essentially tell your computer that it has a more powerful processor.
The Acer Aspire One does not HAVE settings like these in the BIOS.
What happens when you overclock a processor? It runs hotter. What do you to with a desktop computer that runs hotter? You install a larger heatsink/fan combination to shed this excess heat. How would you install a larger heatsink and fan in your Acer Aspire One? No, a chill pad would not do the trick.
What happens when a laptop runs at a hotter temperature than it is supposed to? It shuts down. Do you know why? It is to avoid damaging your system. It is to avoid damaging the processor, and components on the motherboard, etc.
So, your netbook was not designed to be overclocked, because it was designed to run at the specifications it currently runs at. This is the nature of netbooks AND laptops. I'm sorry you don't want to accept this answer, but pay strict attention to the fact that I'm not telling that you SHOULDN'T.... I'm telling you that you CAN'T.
