my toshiba notebook wont go to screen saver as long as the optical mouse is active?
toshiba said it was because of the optical mouse. other notebooks can use an optical mouse and go to screen saver when inactive.
It's not your laptop, I have the same problem with a Microsoft wireless mouse that I use on two different laptops (one Sony and one Hp), and neither will go to screensaver with the wireless receiver plugged in. Microsoft claims it's a compatibility issue when you have a pcm and a dvd launching program running in the background. You can either close these programs or install a Windows Update that should fix the problem, have a look at this website:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911895 , btw, I already have all the updates and it didn't work for me, you could try a different brand mouse or unplug the receiver, too, or contact Microsoft about the problem, they're pretty good about helping with problems.
