how can i swap the wireless cards in my laptops?
i want to know how would i be able to swap wireless cards inside my laptops i have a broken dell laptop thats wireless card has a longer range than my h.p laptop i want to know how would i be able to swap them
Its highly doubtful you can do this. At one time, back when wireless networking was still new-ish, some laptops that came with "built-in" wireless had them on separate "mini PCI" card that could be removed and upgraded as needed. These days, most laptop's have the wireless circuitry built right into the motherboard, and only the antenna is external, usually in the lid of the laptop around the screen.
If you find out that one of your laptop's have a removable wireless mini PCI card, then you hit the lottery, basically. Finding out that *both* of your laptop's have removable wireless would be like getting hit with lightning twice. In one day.
If you are really needing an extended range on your wireless, and you need this around your house, you can upgrade the antenna on your wireless router. If you need the extended range when you are at work, traveling, or at say Starbucks, then you will probably want to disable the internal wireless and get a good quality external wireless solution; either a USB dongle, or a PC Card slot version (if your laptop has the PC Card slots, also called PCMCIA).
