How do I keep my white MacBook clean?
My white Macbook has become a little dirty. The keys are showing some noticeable grime and the palm rest areas next to the touchpad are looking the same way. What's the best way to get these clean? I've heard that using the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers works great at getting the dirt off, but I've also heard that they start to eat through the outer coating of the case.
Are there any other MacBook owners out there that have figured out the best way to keep their computer nice and clean? Thanks for the help!
Unless you are really soaking the magic erasers and using them every day, you should be fine. I clean mine about once a month. I moisten the edge of a magic eraser and rub gently. A cotton swab with just a touch of rubbing alcohol will do wonders for dirty keys. The little microfiber cloths that you can find in the auto detailing section of target work well for dust and keeping the smudges off of the outer case.
They key to all of this is moderation. No matter what cleaner you use, if you are using it every day and scrubbing like crazy you are going to damage the plastic.
