Is a pentium e2160 processor equal to or greater than a pentium 3?
I bought guitar hero for the PC platform my compaq of course cheap has a video card that will not support the game. I cant return the game so I bought a visiontek radeon 2400 pro graphics card. I just want to know if my processor is fast enough for this graphics card. Again I have a Pentium E2160 dual core processor. I have been searching for days now I need help thank you in advance
Yes by a wide margin. An e2160 is a dual core, while a pentium 3 is a single core.
2 cores work more efficiently than 1.
The single core processors also produce alot more heat as well.
Processors DO matter. When a graphics card is more powerful than a processor, your graphics cards performance is limited.
Explanation: The graphics card sends information to the processor. However, since the processor is weaker, it cant take all of that information and only takes some of it, which gives you less performance than possible.
Look up "bottlenecking" for more info on this.
A 2400 pro is far too powerful for a pentium 3. For something like the e2160 it would be just perfect for everyday use.
