How do you activate password protection for 'my pictures' on your personal PC or laptop?
I have a Dell Inspirion 2650 laptop and I am looking for a way to protect my pictures. The computer is used by other members of the family and personal friends. But there are some pictures in 'my pictures' that I do not want viewed by others... Does anyone know how to add password protection to my pictures or maybe even a specific folder/album within my pictures ??
You can create a compressed folder and password protect that folder. What this does is store the pictures in an encrypted zip file. The advantage of this method is that it is free and there is no software to install. The PCWorld article below provides directions to set one up.
Under XP Professional, there is an encryption option under the folder's properties (advanced button).
The ComputerHope link below has pointers to some third party encryption solutions which you might like better.
