Trouble with USB / Plantronics headset. Help please please please?
So I bought a Plantronics 655 USB headset on Amazon only yesterday. Received it this afternoon, used it, and all was fine. Now, however, I plug it in and I get a balloon thing pop up on my laptop saying, 'USB Device Not Recognised.. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it'. I just found out that my little brother thought it would be fun to plug it into his xbox earlier when i was out, to see if it was compatible. It wasn't. But now it wont work.. in any USB port, not even on another computer. If aaaanyone can help me try and fix this instead of me having to return it, (If that's even possible..) I'd be eternally grateful..
I don't know anything about an xbox, but if it has a usb port and you brother plugged it in, then it should not have been damaged by it. You should get a replacement.
But if your brother forced it into some other kind of port and bent all the pins in the end or burned it up somehow, then you should get a new one and take the cost of it out of his allowance. It would be morally wrong to return it.
You might look at the plug and see if the pins can be straightened out.
