Is there anyway to replace a USB computer port with a battery powered thing?
So here's what I'm doing, I call it BackPack Jamz.
I have two speakers that plug into a computer via USB, and this turns them on and keeps them powered i'm assuming. There's a second audio cord that can be plugged into an ipod or whatever.
BackPack Jamz 1.0 consists of putting these speakers and a full laptop in a backpack, and walking around with ipod in hand and jams all around.
What I'd like to do is get rid of the whole laptop part. But the speakers will not work without plugging into a USB port for power. Is there any way to rig up some batteries or a battery powered amplifier so I don't need to carry a laptop just to listen to music?
I'd like it to be light and compact, but I'd rather it be heavy and loud/quality than light and too quiet.
I also need to make it waterproof, but that wont be absolutely necessary until later stages in the development.
