Question about Altec Lansing Orbit USB Laptop Speakers in relation to the iPod?
I was considering buying the Altec Lansing Orbit USB Laptop Speakers, which I know contain no headphone jack- they only can be plugged into a usb.
Here's a link to them: http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Speaker-Notebook-netbook-Retail/dp/B002RL8J94/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280460129&sr=8-2
Is there any way that I could get some type of adaptor (or set of adaptors) to rig it up to be able to use this with my iPod?
Thank you in advance.
Are you going to use the Orbit just with your iPod, or with your laptop sometimes, too? As this version of the Orbit requires 5 volts from a usb connection, using it with an iPod would be difficult. You'd need an ac adapter with a 5 volt output, and probably a couple different cables, and I'm not even sure it would work then. They do make other versions of the Orbit which are battery powered (I have one), and plug into any headphone jack. That might be a better option.

Avoid numbers 2, 5, 7, and 8 in the list. Mine is one of those versions, and they are very hard to turn on and off. You have to twist the chrome ring around the outer edge, and it is very difficult to grip, and turns really hard.
