Thinkpad error 0175: bad crc1, stop post tack?

My thinkpad suddenly stopped working. I need to access & salvage my data. Here's what now comes on the screen:
CPU=Intel(R) Mobile Pentium(R) III processor 800MHz
640k System RAM Passed
255M Extended RAM Passed
0256K Cache SRAM Passed
System Bios shadowed
UMB upper limit segment address: E000
Mouse initialized

ERROR
0175: Bad CRC1, stop POST task.
It stops and...
It won't alow me to enter setup, it won't allow me to choose a temporary boot device.
I searched and found that the problem may be the mother board... what can i do now?
It's a type 2648-V3U

Try that. It's from IBM's website with a fix. This link is for the Thinkpad T20. You could also Google search the following info:
