I Found A Macbook Pro But I have a Problem With It?
The other day while i was going to buy some strings for my guitar I found a bag near some trash. The bag looked kinda weird so i sorta nudged it with my foot. It was pretty heavy so i looked inside and it was a dirty scratched Macbook Pro. I was sooo suprised. Why would anyone throw it out? Well of course i took it home and turned it on. Its like a fresh computer because it starts at setup like when you first buy one. But theres a problem with it which is maybe why it was thrown out. It freezes during setup. So i called Apple and they told me that i would have to make an apointment at the Genius Bar. So I did. Im just affraid that theyll run the serial number and see it under another name and think i stole it or something. And i dont want them to take it from me because i really need one right about now. I've considered a less professional laptop repair shop but the thing is that they cost a lot of money and the Apple store is free.
You should definitely take it in to the Apple store. They'll help you for free--usually they just take a look at the machine without bothering with the serial numbers. You might have to wait a little while, but they should be able to get setup running and help set a user name an password for you.
