recycled notebook paper
What are things I can do to use up spare paper?

I was going through my drawers, and I realized I have so much spare paper. I have notebooks I kept from the end of the school year that have 1/4 of the paper left, construction paper, notepads, loose-leaf, etc. What are some crafts or projects I could do that would use up some of the paper? I would just recycle it, but it would be a waste of money.

Here's a very recent answer of mine to a very similar question. Besides the ideas listed below, you could always Google with "crafts with scrap paper", etc.

Why not try your hand at Modular Origami ?
eg. you can make tons of Lucky Stars & then combine them into a model like a chandelier, swan, crane, etc. etc.

This site uses cranes made from lucky stars to make chandeliers. ----

You can use the lucky stars in innovative ways :
-- hang them in strings between rooms [as a curtain] or to partition off an area within the room.
-- add a few bells, etc & make wind-chimes. gift them to friends & relatives too.
-- cover an entire wall with a mosaic of these stars. or the ceiling for the starry night effect :-) You can add some fluorescent paint / marker colors to them so that they glow in the dark.
-- use to embellish greeting cards, gift-wrapping, etc.
-- use as party decorations - individual or stringed together or in bunches...

Beads :
You can make interesting beads from magazine pages, junk mail envelopes, or other scrap paper [color or adorn as required], to use in making jewelry (some people people even sell just the beads as a business). Here's an example of some beads, and links to instructions to make similar ones.

You can tear or cut paper to make collage or mosaic landscapes, etc. You can color the paper first, then cut, Or you could tear & paste & Then color.
You could also glue sheets of paper together to get thick paper. When this dries, color, then cut into tiles. You could make Mah-Jongg tiles to play with, or you could make bricks for mosaic.
NOTE : In order to cover any writing, just add a cover sheet of plain or colored paper.

Some more diverse applications :
- origami stars & other tree decorations
- paper beads - make strings & use as tree decorations or simple jewelry
- light, papier mache models & articles for gifts, tree, utiles.
- rolled magazine frames for mirrors, photos, pictures :
