Small red ants making nest in my laptop! How to get rid of them?
How do I get rid of these small red ants likely to be making a nest inside my laptop? I can see one or two of them occasionally walking on my keyboard and all.
I have a calculator which stopped working one fine day because the ant nest damaged the electronics inside.
You're going to have to stop using the laptop. Sorry, dude. At this point, it sounds like they have easy access to a food source and your laptop. I still can't believe it but... anyways cut off access to one or the other and they'll die, eventually. If you ever do want to use it again, I'd say throw it in a couple large freezer bags, stow it in a place where it won't freeze or get direct light / heat, and forget about it for geez, months.
The manufacturer of your laptop may be able to take it back (at your cost) (of course), give it a thorough taking apart and cleaning, or they may decide that it's a liability issue and refuse to take it back (which given the state of the PC industry now, sounds pretty likely.)
