How do I correctly update my 512MB NVIDIA Geforce Go 7900 GS?
The thing is, I want to update my NVIDIA and downloaded this driver from the following link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_mobile_84.63.html
I have a Toshiba Satellite P-100 Laptop/Notebook and wondering if it is compatible with it or only the ones listed in the link
I tried installing it but it says that the setup program cannot detect any drivers compatible with my current hardware. I am wondering does this mean that I cannot update my card or do I have to do it the way it says on their site, which is uninstalling the display drivers via control panel then installing this one.
I don't want to do that in case the same thing happens and thus my card is screwed unless I can roll back the driver but I am not sure if that will work since the drivers were uninstalled. Please let me know as soon as possible thanks.
You cannot use the drivers provided by nVidia to update laptop drivers. You will need to go to Toshiba's site and download whatever driver they have available. Drivers for laptop video cards must be provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, not the video card manufacturer.
