Need help with errors coming up in command prompt for Acer Acros 200/386SX with Windows 3.1.?
My family has kept this computer for 17-18 years, and it was working up to about a year ago. However, I recently turned on the PC, I noticed several errors occuring in the command prompt (the PC starts in DOS), which prevented me from getting to the C: prompt. Here they are:
CMOS Battery Bad
Equipment Configuration Error
Real Time Clock Error
RAM BIOS Disable
Video ROM BIOS
Today I opened the chassis and looked at the motherboard. There isn't really a CMOS battery, especially one that you can insert and replace. The only chip I see is a Dallas DS 1287/1187 Real-Time chip, which from what I understand, contains the CMOS, RTC and battery all in one. Lastly, I can access the A and B drive, but not the C drive. What can possibly be done to rectify this problem?
you need to set up the hard drive in cmos but its not gonna stay when you shut the power off cause of the battery needing to be replaced.

you need to replace that before you can get the cmos working again.
