which is the right laptop for me?
I will be entering college as a nursing student next year and need to get a new laptop. I'm having trouble finding the right laptop for me. I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1501, which is really on its last legs, even though it's only a few years old. I'm kind of intrigued by tablets, but I'm not sure how great they are "in real life". The brand doesn't really matter much to me, but I tend to trust the big names (HP, Apple, Dell) more.
Crucial aspects:
Long battery life
Relatively speedy
Relatively tough (ruggedized would be fantastic)
Portability
CD/DVD drive
Built-in wireless
I know this is pretty specific, but if anybody has any suggestions I would be most grateful!

the "cool" aspect doesn't really affect my decision much. I'd rather it looks nice, but it's not going to be a deciding factor....and I know that Sam (although I know it as product placement).
Macs are great. they have everything you are looking for under your list. They have a fantastic battery life and comes with a ton of cool great features. They are the Best.
