swap ram from older laptop to recent laptop?

i was curious can i swap the ram from the toshiba to the gateway? according to memorygiant.com my toshiba uses PC2100 DDR SODIMM's and my gateway uses PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM SODIMMs

I took some Ram out of a IBM and put it in a gateway. Here is what I suggest. Take out the old ones. Compare the old with the new to see if it fits in the slots. If it does stick it in---don't force it.
Turn it on--and your computer will tell you if it will work.
Won't hurt anything to try. Just make sure you take out the battery, turn it off.
