Sony VAIO Laptop. Runs slow as hell. WTF?
It is a Sony VAIO my father got from his work. It is running Windows Vista and has an intel dual core processor.
Whenever I run System Mechanic 7, when the RAM defrags, it usually recovers around 500mb of ram... half of what is in this POS.
Is it just the sloppy bag of crap that is Windows Vista that is making this laptop almost unusable or could it be something else? I usually don't have more then FireFox, the program I use to hook to the internet, and System Mechanic 7 running because if I have any more then that, it is almost completely unusable...
I do have my standard assortment of programs installed... AIM, TracksEreaser Pro, K-Lite Media Codec Pack, Nero 8... But 9x out of 10 I can't have more then the BEAR MINIMUM running...
WTF?
Is it just that Sony blows?
p.s. I run spyware scans with every time I log on... VERY expensive virus scan... Zone Alarm Firewall... I'm protected so I know this isn't a virus/malware issue...
u need more ram, vista hogs it all up with 2gb it should run smoother, since u dont seem to have a virus it must be that, sony are good laptops
