Is it bad to put your laptop on stand by?
does it have a bad effect on the laptop to put it on standby daily when your not using for a few hours? I usually put it on stand by so it wont over heat because after 10 hours it becomes real hot on the bottom and i usually keep it on for 13 or 14 hours and than keep it turned off for about 8 hours.

Don't worry about standby. I have mine on 24 hours a day and it won't heat.
what you need to do is to put little pads underneath the back legs of your computer. This will raise the laptop about 1/4" whichis not for air circulation.
also, it makes it easier for typing by doing this as well.
