IBM Thinkpad 770z errors 161,163?
i picked up a cheap ibm think pad 770z laptop at a yard sale. lady said she forgot password. it boots to ibm logo, tells how much memory it has, then beeps twice with errors 161 and 163. i reset CMOS battery, took hard drive out, sautered connections to a host computer... It always asks for anti-theft password. i press enter, then says ok. but after 2 or 3 seconds, it says error- ok or cancel. either button leads you to error 161, 163 box. Also you cannot access the BIOS. Ibm says for $130 you can replace hdd, but is there anything i can do?
