Why does my HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC "clack" when I touch the volume panel?
When I change volume manually, it works fine, but when I slide my finger over the volume control panel, it starts to clack and I can't make it stop. When I open the volume mixer window, all three (speakers, window sounds, Quick Launch) of the adjusting nobs are jumping up and down, and I can't stop them. The (annoying) clacking noise continues even when I am doing something with sound. How can I get this to stop?
Hello-
I asked HP about this on my Pavilion Notebook too.You can turn off the noise in the BIOS, which you acces when you first turn it on, by pressing a key, usually F10, or F11, when you see the HP Logo.
Just to make sure, stat it up one time, and when you see the HP logo, look in the bottom right corner.It should say what button to press.
Once you are in the BIOS, scroll around (you can only use the arrow, enter, and F keys) until you find the option dealing with the button sound
(it will be clearly labeled)
