The mouse Touch-Pad Stopped working after connecting an USB mouse.?
The touchPad in my laptop Stoped working after i had connected an USB mouse. I have two OS's installed winxp and win2003 and they gave the same problem, nevertheless I don't think it's a hardware problem.
The laptop is Acer Aspire 5611, if that helps.
I had tried reinstalling driver but it didn't work either. So any suggestion is appreciated.

Does the touchpad work if you removed the USB mouse? If so..
Might be a setting in the BIOS since both operating systems display similar results. Look around to see if there is any configuration that disables the touch pad if you plug in an external mouse.
If it works once you remove the USB mouse, try plugging another USB device into the USB port and see if the touch pad doesn't work again, might be a resource conflict or getting turned off.
