Have You Ever Spilled Any Liquids on Your Laptop And Saved The Computer From Permanent Damage?
Since many of us use our laptops in coffee houses and Internet cafes, it could be risky to have drinks on a table that could spill all over the computer. This is the ultimate nightmare.
If you have ever had a liquid spill, did your laptop work ok after it dried off? Was it permanently destroyed? Any hope at all from water or a sugary hot or cold drink spill and damage repaired by you or service tech? Also, I'm sure warranties would be void and spills would be the responsibility of the owner.
Please let us know if you had a "toxic" spill on your laptop and what the outcome was. Total loss or some hope to save it from the landfill
Great responses and it looks like there is hope saving a laptop from a liquid spill if you act fast enough, turn it off, remove the battery, use a hair dryer and just let it dry out. It looks like the best approach is fast action and response
my current laptop (Still working) took a whole buch of brisk iced tea right to the keyboard and is still working i immediately grabbed my laptop took the battery out and threw the power cord across the room and quickly called my grandfather whom open up my laptop and cleaned the board luckily keeping it from perm dammage...
But yes i have 300 dollars in warrenties on my laptop and the one thing that isnt protected is the keyboard from spills i even have screen protecttion but one drop in the keyboard and bam!!! its all on you.
