What is the best UMPC for me?
Looking for a UMPC to help me when I enter clinics (I am in med school) to help me access my notes, maybe download some ebooks, and maybe type some more notes. It must have windows XP 2007 with powerpoint, word, and excel. I have it narrowed down to the Acer Aspire One, Dell Inspiron Mini 9, and the Fujitsu U810 Tablet. Which of these (or any UMPC) would be the best for holding lots of notes, being very portable and easy to whip out to access my info, and have a long battery life?
Don't know for sure, but here are a few points of information:
1. The current version of the Windows operating system is not "XP 2007". It's "Vista." Using the wrong term with a salesperson can label you as a greenhorn.
2. If you want Powerpoint, Word and Excel, you're going to have to pay extra for Microsoft Office 2007. Don't be fooled by the free trial version of Microsoft Office that may ship with the machine. It's good for only 25 uses (of all Office programs combined) or 60 days. At the end of that time, it will let you read and print your documents, but not much more.
