How to use Bluetooth headset with a Windows XP SP2 notebook?
My configuration (What I got):
Bluetooth headset: Sony Ericsson HBH-600
Driver for that: Nothing
Computer: Notebook computer with no integrated bluetooth
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Bluetooth stack: Default (WinXP one)
Bluetooth adapter: Billington USB bluetooth adapter
Driver for that: Nothing
I know how to use my headset with my phone. But could not use the headset with my notebook. How can I use the headset as a audio out/in device with the notebook. What more do I need. (Drivers etc.)
Overriding Windows XP SP2 built-in Microsoft stack
Windows XP with its Service Pack 2 (SP2) has built-in Microsoft Bluetooth stack. But the Microsoft stack doesn't support headset profile. To have your Bluetooth headset installed and working, you don't need to uninstall SP2 and downgrade to SP1. You can install a third party software on Windows XP SP2, the first choice is the one that comes with your Bluetooth adapter. The third party software usually has support for more profiles, including the headset profile.
